The Fifth Dispensation: Law. This dispensation extends from Sinai to Calvary--from Exodus to the Cross. The history of Israel in the wilderness and in the land is one long record of the violation of the law. The testing of the nation by law ended in the judgment of the Captivities, but the dispensation itself ended at the Cross.

Exodus 19:1-4, 8

2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped camped before the mount.

3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, and tell the children of Israel;

4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, and brought you unto myself.

8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

Exodus 19:5-6

5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Romans 10:5

For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

2 Kings 17:7-17,19

7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

8 And walked in the compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

10 And they set them up compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped the LORD to anger:

12 For they served compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

15 And they compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped in the statutes of Israel which they made

Acts 2:22-23

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Luke 21:20-24

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped with armies, then know that the compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped thereof is nigh.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22 For these be the days of compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days for there shall be great compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped in the land, and wrath upon this people.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the compasseddesolationdeterminate counseldistresseagles’ wingsflee to the mountainshardenedhigh placeshouse of JacobidolsimagesIsraelkeep my commandmentslawpass through the firepeculiarpriestsprovokerejectedsinnedstatutestimes of the Gentilesvanityvengeancewalkedwe will dowilderness of Sinaiwonders and signsworshipped be fulfilled.
